Buster’s: The Sounds
The other night I went to my third show at Buster’s since their opening. Headlining was The Sounds, supported by Foxy Shazam. I had heard of The Sounds before, since just months ago they were touring around with No Doubt and Paramore. I actually saw that show, but with another opener. I never got a chance to check out The Sounds, so I was pleased to find out they were coming to Lexington. Kicking off the night was the band Foxy Shazam, who a friend told me put on a great live show. I came to find out he wasn’t joking as Foxy played an awesome set, and even interacted with me. From all the bands I have shot, I have only had one person look at the camera and pose. Foxy Shazam on the other hand, were posing left and right for me. Below are a few examples as well as some other shots I took during their set. To view all the photos, check out the Foxy Shazam set on my Flickr.

Not long after Foxy Shazam’s set was done, The Sounds took the stage and hit the ground running with some explosive songs right off the bat. The lead singer, Maja Ivarsson, has great stage presence which really makes The Sounds what they are. Not only does she engage the audience well, but she struts around stage doing high kicks, squats, and other poses while passionately delivering the lyrics. Although Maja may be the face of The Sounds, the rest of the band is definitely the body, showing their talent with their instruments. Below is a [larger than usual] selection of photos I took of The Sounds. To view all the photos, check out The Sounds set on my Flickr.
