My schedule has been a busy one the last six months, and one of the casualties has been the ability to see and photograph live music at Buster’s, one of my favorite venues. In an effort to scratch that itch, I snuck over to Buster’s on Friday night after shooting the basketball game to catch Houndmouth, a band from nearby Louisville. The past year has been nothing short of a thrill ride for me when it comes to photography, and especially concert photography. New Found Glory stopped by Buster’s last month and playing to a very enthusiastic Lexington fan base that had been yearning for a show from their favorite pop-punk band. Hinder headlined the night and put on one hell of a show, leading up to their show at Rock On The Range only a week later. Hinder was one of the first bands I had ever shot, so it was kind of fun to come full circle and shoot them again 2 years later. Continue Reading »
They didn’t headline the show, but I would go so far as to say they stole it. Having never shot Red before and only heard one of their songs on the radio, I didn’t know much about the band going in. Kopek followed Royal Bliss and seem to be a bit heavier, but still great. While they didn’t seem to be as comfortable on stage as the band before them, they still put on a good show and got the crowd warmed up for the last two bands. Continue Reading »
Royal Bliss kicked off a full show at Buster’s with an electric and someone surprising set. I’d never heard of them before, but they definitely made me remember their name. Having played shows in Lexington before, Justin Moore had already developed quite a following in the city, so a good crowd showed up to see him headline a show at Buster’s. Justin did a great job of keeping the crowd active and involved and putting on a fun and energetic show. Continue Reading »
