Following the quick portrait session, Ellie Herring did a DJ set at Cosmic Charlie’s. I had shot a few DJs before, so I knew how it varies drastically from shooting a band. It’s hard to find variety in shots of DJs when they tend not to move much. There are only so many angles one can find from the front of the stage. Luckily, Ellie told me it was alright for me to come up on stage and shoot from anywhere up there, which gave me so many more options and shots I couldn’t have gotten from the pit.
